Dieter H. Bimberg received the Diploma in physics and the Ph.D. degree from Goethe University, Frankfurt, in 1968 and 1971, respectively. From 1972 to 1979 he held a Principal Scientist position at the Max Planck-Institute for Solid State Research in Grenoble/France and Stuttgart. In 1979 he was appointed as Professor of Electrical Engineering, Technical University of Aachen. Since 1981 he hold the Chair of Applied Solid State Physics at Technical University of Berlin. He was elected in 1990 as Executive Director of the Solid State Physics Institute at TU Berlin, a position he hold until 2011. In 2004 he founded the Center of Nanophononics at TU Berlin, which he directed until 2015.

Professor Yiyu Cai leads the Computer-aided Engineering Labs, and the Digitalization Cluster with the Energy Research Institute @ NTU. Professor Vladimir G. Chigrinov is Professor of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology since 1999. Yijie Shen is an Assistant Professor in School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences & School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. He was previously a Marie Curie Senior Research Fellow in Optoelectronics Research Centre, University of Southampton, UK. He received the Ph.D. degree in optical engineering at the Department of Precision Instrument, Tsinghua University, China, in 2019. He received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and automation from South China University of Technology, China, in 2015. During Mar.-Jun. 2019, he was invited as a visiting researcher in School of Physics: Structured Light Laboratory, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He was recognized as members of the Chinese Optical Society, Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Optical Society of America, the Wang Da-Heng Optics Award in 2019, an honorary Rosalind Member of London Journals Press in 2021. He has published more than 80 papers in high-impact journals with ~4000 citations (H-index of 30).

Main direction of research work: Study of reactions of liquid-phase aerobic oxidation of hydrocarbons in the presence of fullerene, carbon nanotubes and nanoleafs, as well as synthesized nanostructured catalysts by the CVD method, treated with ultrasound. I am the author of 130 scientific papers, including 4 patents.
